Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh on Friday welcomed an announcement by what was described as the “High Representative for Gaza at the Peace Council,” Nikolay Mladenov, on the creation of a coordination office between the Palestinian Authority and the “Peace Council.”

In a post on X, al-Sheikh said: “We welcome the announcement issued by Mr. Nikolay Mladenov regarding the establishment of a liaison office affiliated with the Palestinian Authority.”

He added that the office would provide “an official channel for coordination and communication between the Office of the Peace Council representative and the Palestinian Authority to implement President (U.S. Donald) Trump’s plan and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803.”

No further details were immediately available regarding the mandate or structure of the office.
