Poland said Wednesday it had shot down several drones that violated its airspace multiple times during what it described as Russian strikes on targets in Ukraine.

In a post on X, the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command reported “unprecedented violations” of its airspace and said defensive measures were immediately activated.

Polish forces, supported by allied troops (unspecified), tracked dozens of airborne objects on radar and decided to neutralize those posing a threat.

The command confirmed the operation had concluded, with search operations underway to recover drone wreckage.
