Storm “Christine” has claimed the lives of five people in Portugal, according to local media reports on Wednesday.

Sources said that four people were killed when a residential building collapsed in the city of Leiria, while a fifth person died after a tree fell on his car in the city of Vila Franca de Xira.

The storm caused widespread damage, amid official warnings of continued severe weather conditions in several regions.
