Dozens of people demonstrated on Sunday outside the detention facility holding Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in New York City, protesting US military intervention and his detention alongside his wife.
Protesters chanted slogans demanding his release and an end to what they described as attempts to seize Venezuela’s wealth.
Participants held anti-war banners as police imposed tight security around the area.
The protest followed US President Donald Trump’s announcement that Washington had taken control of Venezuela and begun US-led oil operations there.
