Major Italian cities saw mass protests and a general strike on Friday, organized by unions to denounce the Israeli siege and support the Flotilla of Resilience sailing toward Gaza.

The strike, deemed “illegal” by the government, led to transportation paralysis and flight delays in Rome and Milan.

The demonstrations coincided with solidarity events in other European and global cities.
