Mass protests were held across several Turkish provinces overnight Wednesday into Thursday in response to the Israeli navy’s raid on ships belonging to the international “Freedom Flotilla” seeking to break the blockade of Gaza.

Demonstrations took place in cities including Istanbul, Ankara, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Şanlıurfa, Malatya, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Elazığ, Van, Muş, Bitlis, Erzurum, Ağrı, Erzincan, Trabzon, Artvin, Gümüşhane, Giresun, Bayburt, and Ordu.

In Istanbul, protesters gathered outside the Israeli and U.S. consulates, while in Ankara, demonstrators rallied in front of the U.S. embassy.
