Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the U.S. consulate in São Paulo to oppose President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a 50% tariff on Brazilian exports.

Labor unions and leftist movements participated in the demonstration, viewing the measure as a direct threat to economic interests.

The tariffs are set to take effect on August 6, with limited exceptions for orange juice and civil aircraft parts.
