Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the successful test of the Burevestnik nuclear-powered cruise missile, claiming it has “no equal in the world.”

Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov said the missile flew 14,000 kilometers during the test and is expected to enter service soon following technical evaluations.

The announcement comes amid rising tensions with the West and intensified Russian attacks on Ukraine.
