Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in the Chinese city of Tianjin to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, which convenes more than 20 international leaders.
Putin’s visit comes as Beijing and Moscow seek to strengthen their political and economic bloc as a rival to Western influence.
Ahead of the summit, Putin attacked Western sanctions, emphasizing cooperation with China to confront what he termed “discriminatory” sanctions in global trade.
