Qatar’s Olympic Committee confirmed on Tuesday that it is actively engaged in discussions with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to host the 2036 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In an official statement, the committee said the bid reflects Qatar’s “strong commitment to supporting the Olympic and Paralympic movements, contributing to global sports development, and promoting the role of sport in fostering unity, cross-cultural understanding, and youth empowerment.”
The announcement comes as part of Qatar’s broader vision to position itself as a global hub for major sporting events. The country previously hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup, earning praise for its organizational capacity and infrastructure.
