Residents of Ashrafiyeh, Bani Zaid, and other northern Aleppo neighborhoods have begun gradually returning to their homes after a decrease in fighting and the Syrian army regaining control of areas that saw heavy clashes with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Ambulance and civil defense teams continue clearing rubble, rescuing trapped individuals, and searching streets for unexploded ordnance left over from the battles.
The clashes erupted after negotiations to integrate SDF forces into the regular army stalled.
Despite the cessation of active combat, field teams warn of the dangers posed by unexploded munitions, keeping thousands of families displaced.
At least 22 people were killed, and over 140,000 were forced to flee.
