The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have announced full control of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, after an 18-month siege and fierce clashes with the Sudanese army.
RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo described the takeover as a “turning point in Sudan’s liberation battle,” while the army has yet to issue a statement.
Reports indicate civilian casualties from heavy shelling and drone strikes, deepening the city’s severe food and water shortages.
