Military sources reported that Russia and Ukraine carried out a new prisoner exchange involving thousands of detainees held since the war began.

Kyiv said the operation was supervised by international organizations, while media quoted one released prisoner from Central Asia saying he preferred fighting for Ukraine rather than returning to his home country.

This is the latest in a series of exchanges aimed at alleviating the suffering of prisoners amid intensifying battles on the eastern frontlines.
