A Russian-installed official in Ukraine’s southern Kherson region accused Kyiv on Thursday of killing at least 24 people in a drone attack that hit a hotel and a café during New Year celebrations.

Vladimir Saldo said on Telegram that three drones struck a site in the village of Khorla on the Black Sea coast where civilians were marking the New Year.

Saldo added that one of the drones was carrying an incendiary mixture, describing the attack as a deliberate strike on civilians.

Ukraine’s military did not immediately respond to a request for comment, Reuters reported.
