Russia carried out intense overnight strikes on Ukraine late Saturday, targeting the suburb of Sofiivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv as part of a barrage involving around 50 missiles and approximately 300 drones aimed at energy infrastructure.

Authorities reported that one man was killed and about 20 others, including children, were injured in the Kyiv region. Homes were destroyed, and fires broke out in several areas.

Air defense systems intercepted dozens of missiles and most of the drones, officials said, though damage was recorded in Kyiv and Odesa. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized Moscow for prioritizing bombardment over negotiations.
