Russia announced that President Vladimir Putin has presented proposals to Donald Trump aimed at resolving the crisis with Iran.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow will follow the process of reaching an agreement and is ready to help ease tensions in the Middle East.

He added that Russia has not yet assumed a formal mediation role in these efforts.
