Russia Says Strike in Isfahan Damaged Its Consulate

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia’s consulate in Isfahan, Iran, was damaged following a strike earlier this week.

Zakharova described the attack on a diplomatic mission as a “flagrant violation” of international agreements, stressing that all parties must respect the inviolability of diplomatic premises.

In a statement published on the ministry’s website, she said the incident occurred on March 8, when a nearby building belonging to the Isfahan provincial administration was targeted.

She added that the blast shattered windows in the consulate’s office and residential buildings.

According to the statement, no deaths or serious injuries were reported.
