Saudi Arabia on Saturday condemned Iranian attacks targeting several Arab countries, describing them as a “blatant violation” of sovereignty, after Tehran launched strikes in response to Israeli and U.S. military action earlier in the day.
In a statement, the Saudi foreign ministry said the kingdom “condemns and denounces in the strongest terms the Iranian aggression and the blatant violation of the sovereignty” of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan.
The statement added that Saudi Arabia affirms its “full solidarity” with the affected states and stands ready to support any measures they take.
The kingdom also warned of the “grave consequences” of continued violations of state sovereignty and international law.
Earlier on Saturday, Iran’s Fars news agency reported that “four major U.S. bases in the region” were subjected to intensive missile attacks by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards in the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait.
Jordan’s military said in a statement that it had intercepted and shot down two ballistic missiles that had targeted its territory.
