Saudi Arabia, NATO Hold Talks in Riyad

Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, witnessed talks on Sunday between the Kingdom and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

In a post on the U.S.-based platform X, the Saudi Ministry of Defense said that Saudi Chief of the General Staff, General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, met with Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee.

The ministry noted that the meeting took place during Dragone’s visit to the Kingdom, without specifying its duration, adding that discussions focused on a number of issues of mutual interest, without providing further details.

Saudi Arabia is not a member of NATO, but it has been designated a “major non-NATO ally” by the United States, under a decision issued in November 2025.
