Indonesian authorities have deployed heavy machinery to clear debris from a collapsed school in Sidoarjo, East Java, which killed five people and injured more than 100, while about 60 students remain missing under the rubble.
Minister Pratikno said families were informed that there were no signs of life, and that rescue efforts with heavy equipment were proceeding cautiously.
The school collapsed on Monday while hosting hundreds of students and teachers.
On Wednesday, rescue teams managed to save five students by digging manual tunnels.
