Severe Weather in Gaza Claims Infant’s Life, Kills Young Man as Conditions Worsen for Displaced

An infant died from severe cold on Monday, while a young Palestinian man was killed in a building collapse, as a winter storm hit the Gaza Strip and intensified the suffering of displaced residents.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health said the infant, two-month-old Arkan Firas Musleh, died due to extreme cold, bringing the number of weather-related deaths caused by cold and the storm to three.

The ministry also reported the death of another Palestinian following a building collapse, raising the number of victims admitted to hospitals due to storm-related building failures to 17.

Meanwhile, the plight of displaced people continues to worsen as the storm persists, with meteorological services forecasting further drops in temperatures and heavy rainfall across the Gaza Strip.
