Six Dead and 17 Missing After Landslide in Central Java, Indonesia


Indonesian authorities reported on Saturday that six people were killed and 17 others went missing following a landslide in Central Java.

Mohammad Abdullah, head of the search and rescue office in Cilacap, told local Kompas TV that six people died as a result of the landslide on Friday.

He added that rescue teams are continuing the search for 17 missing individuals using excavators, police dogs, and water pumps.

Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency previously reported that over 90 people were displaced due to heavy rains and landslides in the area on Friday.
