Sixteen people were killed and 30 others injured in two separate traffic accidents in Turkey, authorities said on Sunday.

One of the accidents involved a bus in the southern tourist city of Antalya.

Antalya Governor Hulusi Sahin said the bus driver “sadly did not survive despite all efforts,” adding that the death toll from the incident had risen to nine.

Earlier reports had put the toll at eight dead and 25 injured before the figures were updated.

Authorities did not immediately provide further details on the cause of the accidents and said investigations were under way.
