Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud warned during an emergency parliamentary session on Sunday that the Israeli occupation’s recognition of Somaliland poses a direct threat to regional and global security and stability.

He described the move as a blatant violation of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial unity, stressing that it contravenes international law.

The president reaffirmed that Somalia is a single, indivisible entity.

The recognition sparked a wave of regional and international condemnations, while the Palestinian Foreign Ministry warned against the potential use of the region as a destination for forcibly displacing Palestinians from Gaza.
