A South Korean court approved the arrest of Kim Kun-hee, wife of the imprisoned and ousted former president Yun Suk-yeol, making her the first former first lady to be detained in the country.

The decision followed a five-hour hearing during which the prosecution requested an arrest warrant on charges including stock manipulation, bribery, and abuse of power, which could lead to several years of imprisonment.
