South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol will make a two-day official visit to Turkey starting on Monday, the Turkish presidential communications chief said on Friday.

Burhan Din Duran said in a statement on the Turkish social media platform “In Social” that the visit follows an invitation from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and will take place at the presidential level.

Duran added that the visit is expected to strengthen the “strong ties and friendship” between the two countries, rooted in relations dating back to the Korean War of 1950-1953.
