The Spanish government has decided to close its airspace to US aircraft involved in strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran, reflecting Madrid’s anti-war stance.
According to El País, the decision was later confirmed by Spain’s Defense Ministry sources to the official news agency EFE.
Spain had previously barred US aircraft from using the Rota naval base (Cádiz) and the Morón de la Frontera air base (Seville).
Reports indicate that the government, which maintains a “no to war” position, has now expanded its measures to include banning US military aircraft from transiting its airspace.
