Wildfires in the Ourense province of Spain’s Galicia region have destroyed more than 9,000 hectares and forced residents to evacuate as flames approached homes.

Since early August, over 10,000 people have been evacuated across Spain, with three fatalities recorded, including a volunteer firefighter.

Firefighting efforts continue in Asturias, despite the heat and drought, with some improvement thanks to the weakening winds.
