Iran announced that it had targeted an oil tanker it said attempted to cross the strategic waterway “illegally,” as footage circulated showing a fire aboard the vessel.

Oman’s Maritime Security Center confirmed that a tanker was attacked off the coast of the Sultanate and that its crew had been evacuated.
