An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.5 struck southern and central Mexico, temporarily suspending a press conference by President Claudia Sheinbaum as warning sirens sounded across Mexico City.
Authorities stated that the epicenter was located near the state of Guerrero, specifically close to Acapulco, with depth estimates ranging from 10 to 35 kilometers.
Residents and tourists took to the streets as a precautionary measure, with no major human losses reported so far.
