Fifty-one people were killed over two days in South Kordofan state in central Sudan during some of the fiercest clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, according to medical sources.
The city of Al-Dilling was hit by artillery shelling and drone strikes that killed 28 people and wounded around 60 others, including women and children. Another 18 people were killed in a drone strike targeting the city of Al-Mujlad.
The developments come as the ongoing war continues to fuel a severe humanitarian crisis across the country.
