Basha Tabeeg, adviser to the commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), announced the killing of senior security adviser Hamed Ali Abubakar and several of his companions in a drone strike near the city of Zalingei in central Darfur.
Tabeeg mourned Abubakar, commander of the “Al-Saif Al-Battar” unit, accusing the Sudanese army of carrying out the attack.
The army has not issued an official comment so far.
The incident comes amid escalating clashes in Darfur and Kordofan and an ongoing humanitarian crisis that has left tens of thousands dead and millions displaced.
