Volker Türk said he was shocked by the devastating impact of the growing number of drone attacks on civilians in Sudan.

His remarks followed reports that more than 200 civilians have been killed since March 4 in attacks in Kordofan and White Nile State.

Türk urged all parties to the conflict to comply with international humanitarian law and warned against the use of wide-impact explosive weapons in populated areas.
