The Sudanese army and allied joint forces repelled a large-scale ground assault by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the city of El Fasher in North Darfur on Friday.

Military sources said the attack was launched from three main fronts in an attempt to break through the city’s defenses, which have been under siege since May 2024.

They added that the offensive was accompanied by heavy artillery shelling targeting residential neighborhoods and displacement centers, confirming that defending forces inflicted significant human and material losses on the attackers.
