Sudanese Army Says RSF Drones Targeted Merowe City and Dam in Northern Sudan

The Sudanese army said on Thursday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) carried out multiple drone strikes on the northern city of Merowe, home to a major dam and military airport.

In a statement, the army reported that RSF drones targeted a military base, the airport, and the Merowe Dam, adding that its forces had successfully repelled the attacks.

The strikes came as fierce clashes continued between the two sides in the strategic Kordofan region, according to Agence France-Presse.

Merowe, which has been under army control for several months, lies about 350 kilometers north of the capital, Khartoum.
