Swedish police said on Thursday they shot a man dead and found the body of a woman at a home in the northern town of Boden after responding to reports of a suspected attack.
In a statement, police said they had received calls indicating that a man in his 20s had attacked people at the residence with a weapon. Officers opened fire while attempting to arrest him.
Police added that the body of a 55-year-old woman was found inside the house, while two other injured people were taken to hospital. Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
