Syria’s Interior Ministry said it arrested and neutralized members of an ISIS-inspired cell during an operation in the Badrousieh area of northern Latakia.

The cell was reportedly planning attacks in the coastal region. The raid resulted in two members being killed and others arrested.

Weapons and ammunition were seized, while an intelligence officer was seriously wounded.

The operation comes days after Syria formally joined the international coalition against ISIS.
