More than 3,000 civilians were evacuated from Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods after intense artillery strikes by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) for a second consecutive day, according to the Syrian Civil Defense.

The death toll rose to five, with more than 30 wounded. The Syrian Ministry of Defense said mortar shells and heavy gunfire continued to hit residential areas.

Damascus extended the suspension of flights at Aleppo Airport until Thursday evening and rejected SDF claims, denying responsibility for the attacks.
