Syria is set to hold parliamentary elections between September 15 and 20, according to Mohammad Al-Ahmad, head of the country’s Higher Electoral Committee.
Speaking to the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Sunday, Al-Ahmad announced that the number of seats in the People’s Assembly will be increased from 150 to 210. He also noted that President Ahmad Al-Shar’a will appoint one-third of the members, in line with the new legislative adjustments.
