Field sources in the southern Syrian province of Sweida confirmed on Thursday that Syrian army units have completed their full withdrawal from the area, in line with a recent agreement reached between the government and local community representatives.
The withdrawal reportedly included military positions and security checkpoints surrounding the city and in several southern towns. Control has been handed over in an organized manner to local police and internal security forces, under civilian oversight.
This development follows weeks of tension and clashes in Sweida, which prompted a series of negotiations aimed at de-escalating the situation and restoring local stability.
