Syrian–French Investment Forum Kicks Off in Rural Damascus with French Delegation

The Syrian–French Investment Forum opened on Wednesday in Rural Damascus, according to the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The event, organized by the Syrian Investment Authority, is being held at the Ebla al-Sham Hotel and brings together several Syrian ministries along with an economic and diplomatic delegation from France. Details of the forum’s agenda and whether it will result in the signing of agreements between the two sides have not yet been disclosed.

In late August, Syrian Finance Minister Mohammad Yasar Barniya announced, following a meeting with France’s chargé d’affaires in Damascus, Jean-Baptiste Vievre, that a delegation of French business representatives and companies would visit Syria on October 1, 2025 — coinciding with the opening of the forum.
