The head of the Syrian National Committee investigating the Sweida incidents, Judge Hatem Al-Naasan, said on Sunday that the committee has documented over 800 official testimonies and collected evidence related to the events, preserving it to ensure its legal validity in court.
Al-Naasan explained at a press conference that the committee compiled more than 900 forms concerning victims and their families, visited the sites of attacks, and documented them using field forensic analysis tools.
Since July 19, a ceasefire has been in effect in Sweida following a week-long armed conflict between Druze groups and Bedouin tribes, which left hundreds dead.
The new Syrian administration has been making intensive efforts to restore security in the country since the ousting of Bashar al-Assad’s regime on December 8, 2024, ending 24 years of rule.
