Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara Arrives in Kuwait for Official Talks with Emir

Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara arrived in Kuwait on Sunday for an official visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation. The visit marks the latest step in Syria’s diplomatic outreach across the Arab world.

According to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), President Al-Shara was received with official protocol upon arrival, and is scheduled to hold formal talks with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

This visit represents Al-Shara’s seventh trip to an Arab nation and his ninth international stop since assuming office in January 2025. His previous visits included Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, France, and Bahrain.

The agenda is expected to focus on enhancing bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and regional coordination, as part of broader efforts to normalize Syria’s foreign relations following years of isolation.

The visit underscores Kuwait’s role in supporting Arab dialogue and regional stability, and reflects a growing trend of reintegration between Syria and its neighboring states.
