Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa met on Saturday with a delegation of Saudi business leaders in Damascus to explore opportunities for economic cooperation and investment between the two countries, according to Syria’s official news agency SANA.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace and focused on strengthening bilateral ties through joint ventures in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, transport, and tourism.
The Saudi delegation was led by Mohammed Al-Abunayyan, a member of the Advisory Board of Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Economic Council, and Sulaiman Al-Muhaidib, board member of the Saudi British Bank, along with several private sector representatives.
The visit follows a similar initiative earlier this month, when a Saudi delegation toured Damascus International Airport on July 11 to examine potential investments in the civil aviation sector. That visit included intensive meetings with Syrian officials.
