Taiwanese authorities announced 3 deaths from a smoke bomb and knife attack at Taipei metro stations on December 19, causing panic among passersby in a crowded shopping area.

Police reported the attacker threw the bombs, then stabbed while fleeing, before committing suicide by jumping from a nearby building to avoid arrest.
