The launch of ticket sales for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Morocco from December 21 to January 18, was marred by technical disruptions on Monday, sparking frustration among football fans eager to secure their seats.

Sales began at 9 a.m. local time through the “YALLA” mobile application, but users reported slow response times and repeated system crashes that prevented many from completing their purchases.

The difficulties were compounded by issues with the mandatory “Fan ID” registration system, which several users described as overly complex and time-consuming — raising concerns it could discourage attendance at stadiums.

Organizers have pledged to resolve the technical problems promptly and streamline the ticketing process to ensure a smoother experience for supporters as Morocco prepares to host the continental tournament for the second time in its history.
