Flights across Greece were halted for several hours on Sunday after a sudden malfunction in radio frequencies used for air navigation communications.

The disruption led to the suspension of takeoffs and landings at Athens International Airport for at least two hours, causing dozens of flight cancellations and delays.

Airport terminals witnessed severe congestion and confusion on a typically busy travel day, before authorities announced a gradual restoration of operations.
