Tornadoes Strike Southern Michigan, Killing Four and Injuring Several

Local authorities said powerful tornadoes and storms struck southern Michigan on Friday, killing at least four people and injuring more than ten others, while destroying several homes and cutting power to hundreds of residents.

The storms came shortly after the National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for the area.

Videos circulating on social media, reportedly from the towns of Three Rivers and Union City, showed massive tornadoes ripping roofs off buildings and hurling debris into the air.

Footage from local media also showed damaged buildings and vehicles, as well as fallen power poles, trees, and road signs brought down by the strong winds.

The Branch County Sheriff’s Office, where Union City is located, reported three deaths and dozens of injuries.

Authorities in neighboring Cass County said one person was killed and several others were injured.
