U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in the United Kingdom on Tuesday evening for his second state visit, described as historic, under heavy security as mass protests were planned in the capital.
Thousands of demonstrators are expected to join a march in central London on Wednesday, prompting British authorities to implement extraordinary measures to keep protesters at a distance from the American leader.
Trump will spend Wednesday at Windsor Castle, where he will be hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, before meeting Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday at his country residence, Chequers, about 70 kilometers northwest of London. Talks are expected to focus on political and economic issues.
