U.S. President Donald Trump warned the Cuban government against continued support for Venezuela’s former regime, saying Havana will no longer receive any oil or funds from Caracas.
Trump wrote on his “Truth Social” platform that Venezuela had for decades been a major supplier of energy to Cuba in exchange for security assistance, stressing that “that ends now.”
The escalation follows the U.S. military intervention in Venezuela and the detention and transfer of President Nicolás Maduro to the United States, opening the door to a new political and economic confrontation in the Caribbean region.
